Overview:
Math club is run by EMS volunteers. The club organizes math competitions and provides online training for students who have interest in math competitions.

Information and Dates
Price: $15
Dates: Oct. 13, 2025 - June 12, 2026
Time: Monday and Wednesday, 7PM-8PM (exception: Monday 6:30-7:30PM for week 2, 4, 6, 8, and so on)
(no meeting during competition weeks and the week of November 3rd and November 10th, 2025, the week of January 19th, 2026, public holidays and no-school days.)
Location: Online Zoom Meeting
Class fees will cover all competition registration fees.
Students will need a computer for online meetings and competitions.

Competitions
AMC 10_A Competition Date: Wednesday, November 5, 2025
AMC 10_B Competition Date: Thursday, November 13, 2025
- EMS will host the AMC 10 A and 10 B on these two days immediately after school at EMS Commons. EMS math teacher will register all students and administer these competitions. Test takers are permitted to enroll in ONE competition center. If you try to enroll in two places, this is forbidden, and your account will get locked, stopping you from taking the competition at all. Details on how to register will be sent out before the competition.
AMC 8 Competition Date: Thursday, January 22, 2026

The AMC 8 will also be administered and registered by EMS math teachers. The competition will be held immediately after school at EMS Commons. EMS will host the MATHCOUNTS school round immediately after school at EMS Commons. Details on how to register will be sent out before the competition.

Championship is hosted at Liberty High School on Saturday, February 7, 2026. It is open to all math club students but with seat limit. Details on how to register will be sent out in December.

Master is hosted at Moses Lake High School on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Participation is by invitation only.
Volunteer requirements
Be passionate about math and be willing and comfortable with working with middle school students. Must be an LWSD approved volunteer - even if you have been previously certified, please recheck your volunteer approval status to make sure it is up to date.
