In accordance with the WSPTA Uniform Bylaws and Evergreen PTSA Standing Rules, the EMS PTSA Nominating Committee hereby places the following names into nomination for 2025-2026:

Presidential Service Award Hours Due May 9th

Attention caregivers! If you have a current Evergreen Middle School student who has been participating in volunteer activities and would like to apply to receive the Presidential Service Award, their application and volunteer hours are due May 9th.

The award is given for three levels of service:
50+ hours - Bronze award
75+ hours - Silver award
100+ hours - Gold award

The following is needed to submit hours:

Application cover sheet
Summary of hours including dates, projects, total hours. (Note: hours must between June 1st, 2024 - May 2025)
Confirmation of hours, if more than 2 cumulative hours, for one activity.

Students should email their application and hour summary/confirmation sheet, to Mr. Shah at kinjal@evergreenptsa.org or they can turn them into the library.

Nominate a Deserving EMS Volunteer or Educator!

Each year, Evergreen Middle School PTSA recognizes volunteers and educators who have given outstanding service to our children and school community by presenting them with honors such as the Golden Acorn, Golden Eagle, Walter J. Ferguson, Outstanding Advocate, and Outstanding Educator awards.

Being nominated by peers to receive an award is a huge testament to our volunteers' and educators' contributions, so we invite you to participate in this special tradition by submitting a nomination form by Friday, May 16th.

EMS Team Green

Evergreen Middle School’s Science Olympiad teams demonstrated exceptional skills at the Washington State Science Olympiad Tournament. EMS Team Scorpios achieved an outstanding 2nd place finish, earning the privilege of representing Washington State at the National Science Olympiad. EMS Team Green delivered a remarkable performance as well, securing 3rd place in the competition. We wish EMS Team Scorpios the very best as they compete in the Nationals!

These accomplishments highlight the students’ passion for STEM and serve as inspiration to explore and pursue STEM opportunities. We hope this encourages more students to join Science Olympiad in the coming years. Participating in STEM activities like Science Olympiad fosters critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. It also prepares students for future careers in rapidly growing fields such as technology, engineering, and environmental sciences, while instilling a lifelong appreciation for the impact of science in everyday life.

Brown Bear Car Wash Fundraiser

Keep your car shiny and clean while supporting your PTSA!

Each Brown Bear Car Wash ticket costs just $12 (the same price as at the car wash), and $9.50 of every ticket sold goes directly back to our school!

All profits will go to support Evergreen programs and services such as staff grants, teacher stipends, staff appreciation, student planners, 8th grade celebration and so much more!

Tickets can be mailed home or sent home with students. Tickets have no expiration date. Car washes make great gifts for friends, family, teachers and yourself!

Earth Month - Sustainability

April is Earth Month, a time to remind ourselves how much we depend on our planet and why it’s so important to protect it. Evergreen PTSA wants to encourage your family to think about opportunities how you and your family can help. Earth’s resources—clean water, fresh air, fertile soil—are limited, and it’s up to all of us to take care of them for the people and wildlife that call this planet home.

Plastic Free Lunch Day

Plastic Free Lunch Day is an inspiring initiative that encourages us to rethink our daily habits and reduce our reliance on plastic. This day is dedicated to fostering awareness about the impact of plastic waste on our environment and promoting sustainable alternatives.

EMS PTSA is facilitating a Plastic Free Lunch Day during the week of April 28th.

Apply to be a volunteer at Evergreen Middle School or renew your volunteer approval status today!

Whether you plan to volunteer with EMS PTSA or as a general school volunteer, your approval within Lake Washington School District (LWSD) must be renewed every two years.

Volunteers can help with activities such as:

Dances
After school programs
Field Trips
Sports

Kids Coming Together

This Lake Washington School Foundation program offers exciting and fun opportunities for 3rd-8th graders to be involved in community service events.

The events help children come together while providing leadership opportunities for high school students.
